Shomrei HaAdamah (Guardians of the Earth) - A School-Wide Garden Program
Donna Klein Jewish Academy is dedicated to not only teach our students about Judaism, but to live it. Judaism and environmentalism are deeply interconnected. Shomrei HaAdamah (Guardians of the Earth) is an exciting program designed to engage middle school students in both their Judaic and secular education through experiences in our garden.
Our Shomrei HaAdamah program promotes an avid culture of environmental stewardship and Jewish eco-active leaders on campus. Each year, our middle school students create and tend to our garden in a partnership with the JARC (Jewish Association for Residential Care) community. Our garden fosters collaboration and connection within our school and larger community while offering hands-on learning about agriculture, sustainability, and the food industry. In partnership with Flik Caterers the produce grown in our garden is proudly used in our farm-to-table initiative, enriching our school lunch menu.
