Admissions Policies

Donna Klein Jewish Academy seeks and accepts those students who can benefit from an academically rigorous dual curriculum consisting of general and Judaic Studies. As part of the admissions process, students are given admission testing to determine developmental readiness and academic achievement. Testing for grades Kindergarten through Grade 8 is done on-site at DKJA. Students applying to Grades 9-12 must register and take the Secondary School Admission Test. More information about dates and test sites for the SSAT is available on their website, www.ssat.org.

In addition to admission testing, DKJA requires the student’s records as well as recommendation forms from current teachers, which will indicate how the child has been performing at his/her current or previous school(s).

Kindergarten applicants attend a Kindergarten group activity program. Applicants to Grades 1-8 also spend time in the classroom with our classroom teachers during a day visit to the school. Applicants to Grades 9-12 are interviewed by a high school administrator during their day visit.
