Donna Klein Jewish Academy students Justin Hier and Matt Lipson created a foundation to raise funds for cancer research that the teens named "Hope 4 Moms Foundation."

Within the past two months, Hier and Lipson raised $5,000 through social media activities and their website www.hope4momscharity.com which features a page dedicated to making donations for the foundation.

The 18-year-old teens are senior year students at Claire and Emanuel G. Rosenblatt High School at DKJA in Boca Raton and bonded through the loss of family members to cancer.

"Matt lost his mother to ovarian cancer eight years ago and I also suffered a loss, so we became dedicated to the fight against cancer," said Hier.

"Because Matt and I both understand how difficult it is to cope with a family member with cancer, we decided to fight against cancer by making a lasting impact. The sure-fire way of fighting cancer is through benefiting research efforts," said Hier.
