Claire and Emanuel G. Rosenblatt High School student Blayse Freedman recently returned from a once-in-a-lifetime trip to South America where she took part in an exchange program called ‘Project Beisbol’. The trip was comprised of American youth baseball players who traveled to Colombia to help at-risk kids in South America learn to play the sport.
For the second-straight year Boca Raton’s Donna Klein Jewish Academy reached its goal of raising $300,000 in one day to support the school and its programs. On the first Tuesday in November, DKJA employees, parents, board members and even students sported purple, which was the theme of the day, tabbed as Tzedakah Tuesday.
Rosenblatt High School Senior Jessica Siegel made it official this week by announcing that she will be playing collegiate tennis for Division I program at Lafayette College next fall. Jessica has been playing tennis since she first picked up a racket at the age of seven. Since then she has found a passion for the sport and continued to reach for the stars up until her most recent accomplishment.
The senior captain has not only been a leader on the court, with a team-leading 279 kills and 202 digs but what she has overcome in life is even more inspirational, even if she doesn’t believe that to be the case. Read the full story and see a video of Ball HERE.

It has been such an exciting week for the DKJA Eagles!!! Today, we celebrate as a school, the signing of one of our former students, Greg Joseph to the NFL’s Cleveland Browns. Greg spent the entire pre-season as a member of the Miami Dolphins and we are excited to follow him on his journey to Cleveland.
Five 2018 graduates of Donna Klein Jewish Academy and Katz Yeshiva High School, both located in Boca Raton , will be serving in the Israel Defense Forces and United States Army later this year.
While 35 of the 38 graduates from Claire and Emanuel G. Rosenblatt High School at Donna Klein Jewish Academy prepare for their first year of college in the fall at top colleges around the nation such as MIT, Brandeis and Emory, three young men from the Class of 2018 are getting ready for a different set of challenges outside of the classroom.
This weekend, DKJA’s newly established Alumni Association will have its first-ever 10-year reunion, as the the Class of 2008 is set to meet in Ft. Lauderdale. The DKJA Alumni Association was created last year to enhance the mutually beneficial relationship between our Alumni Community and Donna Klein Jewish Academy. We are actively engaging alumni to maintain positive relationships with friends, teachers and administration for the future of our DKJA community.
Each year graduating seniors from Claire and Emanuel G. Rosenblatt High School take part in a number of unique and memorable experiences celebrating the culmination of their DKJA careers. This year the 38 seniors were given the opportunity to enjoy two special occasions, their Awards and Rose Ceremonies.
This week at DKJA ended on a very positive and spiritual note as our first-grade class received their own Siddurs during a special ceremony held in Zinman Hall. Along with song and dance, these young students displayed to their proud parents what they have learned in Tefilah and how much this day meant to them.
Sydney Levine, a 17-year-old junior student at Donna Klein Jewish Academy in Boca Raton, won first place in a Congressional Art Competition in late April.
With five district championships and five first team All-County Athletes, DKJA closed out the school year with our most successful athletic season to-date with a Sports Night Celebration!

Over the last two weeks, I had the distinct pleasure of accompanying our senior class, as well as a number of other 17-18 year old teens in the southern United States, on the 30th annual March of the Living. Throughout this program, students and staff members alike engaged in an educational journey through the concentration camps of Poland and then saw the beauty of Israel first-hand during a week-long stay. This is an emotional and powerful trip that impacts the students in a variety of different ways.
Donna Klein Jewish Academy’s dance program is run by mobile dance company, Mizfit Inc. Dance is a wonderful way of keeping fit and allowing children to find and improve upon new skills. Team sports and athletics are not for every child, so dance provides them the opportunity to develop many life skills which they can apply as they grow and develop.
On Holocaust Remembrance Day, Yom Ha Shoah, it is our responsibility to remember and honor all 11 million victims and pay special tribute to the 6 million Jewish souls that perished. Every year at DKJA, our students lead a program with the guidance of our Judaic Studies department to educate our community on the Shoah and teach the importance of Never Again.
This past week, students from K-12 took part in DKJA’s annual Leadership Day as part of Franklin Covey's Leader in Me initiative. Leadership Day offers an opportunity for teachers and administrators from other Leader in Me schools to participate and learn about how the Leader in Me is integrated at Donna Klein Jewish Academy.
Noah Rubin, a Claire and Emmanuel G. Rosenblatt High School freshman, was given $15,000 during the Palm Beach Philanthropy Tank Finals earlier this month.
This week, DKJA Head of School, Helena Levine held the first-ever Head of School Honor Roll Breakfast to recognize the highest achievements of our 8th-12th graders.
Noah Rubin is a freshman at the Claire and Emanuel G. Rosenblatt High School at DKJA. Noah is a part of the first-ever engineering affiliation group with Florida Atlantic University. This is the first year of this exciting program, where students that are interested in engineering, receive the unique opportunity to work on a project with a professor from FAU. Noah Rubin has started a community service project to spread his passion for engineering and computer programming beyond the classroom.

The week of Purim took on an extra special meaning for students at the Claire and Emanuel G. Rosenblatt High School, as our Hebrew Honor Society hosted 13 students from Israel. The high school students are all from Boca Raton’s sister city of Zichron Yaakov and the group was in South Florida as part of the Partnership2Gether Leadership Program.
Our students are the leaders of tomorrow. Today, the Claire and Emanuel G. Rosenblatt High School at DKJA took a big step in the healing process as a student-led and student organized program took place inside Zinman Hall.
I am usually a quiet, stay-in-the-background parent who enjoys the simple pleasures of having a second grade daughter – taking her to school, helping with her homework, participating in class events. But today I’m an emotional parent, and I felt the need to communicate my gratitude to you (and many others at DKJA) for the role that you play in my daughter’s – and my family’s – lives.
This week has been a special one here at Donna Klein Jewish Academy as we have had a number of activities and celebrations that have spanned the generations. The culmination of this past week marks our annual Grandparents' & Special Friends' Day.
DKJA officially showcased the newest component to its expanding educational palette this week, as the school welcomed in parents, grandparents and community members to get better acquainted with The Seiff Learning Academy, which will enable students to absorb information in a non-traditional classroom setting.
Students at DKJA were afforded a unique glimpse of the working world this week as the school’s annual Minimester took place at The Claire and Emanuel G. RosenblattHigh School. Beginning Tuesday, students heard from a number of working professionals in business, finance, engineering and science on topics ranging from the stock market, life as a CEO and even how to solve a forensic mystery.
We are very proud of our students and the positive leadership that was spread throughout DKJA this week! Our students in K-12 spent time learning about the extraordinary life and message of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Time is flying and DKJA is ready for a successful second semester. With many wonderful events and milestones in store, we are excited for what 2018 holds.
