Donna Klein Jewish Academy’s varsity tennis program made school history as both the boys and girls teams captured District 14 Class 1A championships in Boynton Beach on April 16. It marks the first time both teams have secured district titles in the same season, a milestone achievement for DKJA athletics.
The boys team was led by senior Alex Lessen, who claimed the No. 1 singles championship and partnered with seventh-grade student Reuben Cole to win the No. 1 doubles title. Their strong performance earned them a berth at the state tournament later this month in Orlando. Eighth-grade student Vlad Levykin added to the team’s success with a victory at No. 4 singles.
On the girls side, seventh-grade student Alina Levykin captured the No. 4 singles championship, helping power the team to its district title and complete the historic sweep.
