12/04/2020 Head of School Message

Dear DKJA Community,

I hope your Thanksgiving break was relaxing and safe, and that you had the opportunity to enjoy a festive meal and engaging conversations with the loved ones in your household. The next few weeks promise to be busy ones at DKJA as we celebrate Chanukah throughout the grades and the upper school students prepare for midterm exams. Along with the other administrators, I am working on getting our school ready for second semester, as well as for the 2021–2022 school year. Additionally, our admissions office has been giving golf-cart and virtual tours to many families looking to relocate from around the country. I am happy to report that we have many new families choosing to join DKJA this year, and in turn many grades are nearing capacity. Thank you to everyone who continues to refer family and friends as we see numbers like never before. Spreading the word about the great things happening at DKJA is the best recommendation!

Last week I sent an email to all families asking them to select their learning option for the second semester and to share feedback and comments on the year to date. If you have not already completed this brief survey, please be sure to do so prior to December 11. While the principals and I will be reviewing each submission, please reach out directly to your child’s principal if you require immediate attention.

One of the core values of our school’s mission is to educate our students with Jewish values and a strong Jewish identity. In all areas of study, we strive to instill in our students a lifelong love for and allegiance to the State of Israel. With this in mind, I was proud to see three of our DKJA alumni recognized as part of a group of Boca Raton students who are ready to begin their service in the Israeli Defense Force (IDF). We are so proud of Danielle Chaham, Lee Dahoah, and Dekel Dahoah, all of whom graduated from DKJA. We wish them sherut kal V'mashmauti, a safe and meaningful service. Click here to read the complete article highlighting these inspiring young adults.

Wishing you continued good health. Shabbat Shalom.

Shabbat Shalom,
