4/9/2021 Head of School Message

Dear DKJA Community,

I want to take this opportunity to update the DKJA community about our search for the principal position at the Claire and Emanuel G. Rosenblatt High School. Over the past several months, we have met with many candidates to ensure the best possible outcome for DKJA. As we begin preparations for the 2021-2022 school year, we are excited to announce that Mrs. Illana Joseph will serve as the acting high school principal for the upcoming school year. I am confident that this decision will provide DKJA with the professional expertise necessary to give our high school students an education of extraordinary power and purpose.

Mrs. Joseph has had a long and impressive career at Donna Klein Jewish Academy, most recently as the Assistant Principal of the Claire and Emanuel G. Rosenblatt High School. She has spent the last ten years in this role in addition to serving as the academic dean and mathematics department chairperson. Mrs. Joseph has also been instrumental in overseeing much of the growth of the high school and has participated in the elevation and expansion of both our academic and student life programs. She is well respected by the faculty, students, and parents, and has been an integral member of the school’s executive leadership team.

As we look towards the future of Rosenblatt High School, we remain focused on the successful conclusion of this school year and a continued commitment to our students and families. We are exceptionally proud of the class of 2021 who have gained admission to a host of outstanding universities, including the University of Pennsylvania, Georgetown University, Johns Hopkins University, Wellesley College, Tulane University, University of Miami, University of Michigan, University of Maryland, Northeastern University, Boston University and the University of Florida.

The future of Rosenblatt High School remains bright. Mrs. Joseph will continue to work closely with Rabbi Lesack to ensure a smooth transition for our students, faculty, families, and community. We look forward to Mrs. Joseph’s leadership in the year ahead.

Shabbat Shalom,
Helena Levine
