Dr. Ximena Levy

Dr. Ximena Levy is the Director of the Human Research Protection Program at Florida Atlantic University. Prior to this role, Dr. Levy worked as a consultant in health economics and as a scientific researcher specializing in adolescents and substance abuse. Dr. Levy has been an advisor in health economics for governments, pharmaceutical companies, and academic institutions such as the University of Miami and Florida International University, among others. She earned her Master of Science in Public Health from Harvard University and received her Doctor of Medicine degree from Universidad Javeriana in Colombia (South America). She moved to the United States when she was awarded a scholarship from the National Institutes of Health for a fellowship in HIV/AIDS International Research at the University of Miami.

Ximena and her husband, Elie, moved to Boca Raton in 2003. Their daughter, Rebecca, has been at the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County campus since she was 6 months old. She attended the Mommy and Me program, pre-school and summer camps in the JCC, and then she moved up to kindergarten at DKJA where she is currently a middle school student. For the Levy family, DKJA has been their home.They are active members of the Anshei Emuna Congregation.
