DKJA raises more than $300K during annual fundraiser

Matt Franzblau, DKJA Communications
For the second-straight year Boca Raton’s Donna Klein Jewish Academy reached its goal of raising $300,000 in one day to support the school and its programs. On the first Tuesday in November, DKJA employees, parents, board members and even students sported purple, which was the theme of the day, tabbed as Tzedakah Tuesday.

From 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., volunteers manned the phones and made calls to those in the community, while DKJA staff entered the donations as they came in, totaling more than $324,000 from nearly 450 generous donors.

Funds raised on Tzedakah Tuesday will go toward improving initiatives inside and out of the classroom, including eight specialized programs, which range from an instrumental music fund, to Jewish life and learning, arts and athletics.
