DKJA Students in the News!

We are proud to recognize our DKJA students for receiving state and national recognition!!!

Congratulations to 11th grade students Noah Rubin and Yakov Wahnich, who placed second in the ITEEA STEM Reach Challenge. The Reach Challenge is an impactful Adaptive & Assistive Technology (AT) design-thinking project for middle school, high school, and college level STEM programs. These wonderful students designed a flip board, a specialized napkin folder to help a man with Down syndrome gain employment and be able to fold napkins for Grand Lux Cafe.

By learning from the past we enrich our future! We are excited to celebrate 8th grader Eva Gottesfeld, who came in first place in the state in the Holocaust Reflection Contest. This competition, hosted by Nova Southeastern University, takes place every year and is open to all Florida middle and high school students. Teaching our students about the importance of the Holocaust through survivor testimonies will better secure our future.

Mazal tov to Middle School Robotics team students Rebecca Levy, Eva Gottesfeld, and Benjamin Ferber, who have had a successful month while competing in the FIRST LEGO League, a global robotics competition. These students are the recipients of the Champion’s Award, came in third place for the Strategy and Innovation Award, and have now been selected to represent South Florida in an invitational event in South Carolina.

Additionally, we are proud to recognize our very own RHS Mock Trial team for coming in fourth place in the Florida High School Mock Trial competition. After months of learning legal issues, trial advocacy, and the rules of evidence, the students presented their cases in front of local judges and attorneys and a packed courtroom of spectators.

GO DKJA! We are so proud of all our students and look forward to celebrating future successes with each of you.
